NextEra is selling its Ontario wind and solar assets.
The Canada Pension Plan Investment Board signed an agreement on April 2 this year to buy four wind and two solar NextEra projects in Ontario for $741 million. The Pension Plan assumes NextEra’s large debt.
Haldimand’s Summerhaven, a wind project on the shore of Lake Erie, is one of the projects sold. Its has 59 turbines with a maximum capacity of 124.4 megawatts, becoming operational in August 2013.
The others are in southwest Ontario.
