(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment is investigating several thefts after multiple vehicles were entered in the area of Port Maitland Road and Gamble Street in Dunnville, Haldimand County, Ontario.

On Monday October 7, 2019 at 7:22 a.m., OPP responded to an address on Port Maitland Road after a citizen noticed their vehicle had been entered and rummaged through as items were scattered about inside the vehicle.

Shortly afterward, OPP responded to several other calls of the same nature.

OPP investigation has determined that sometime between the overnight hours of Sunday October 6, 2019 and early morning hours of Monday October 7, 2019 unknown(s) attended the area and entered several vehicles, some of which were unlocked. Wallets, gift cards and currency were among the items taken from inside the vehicles.

OPP estimate that 10 vehicles had been entered in the area.

OPP reminds residents to always lock their vehicles and remove any valuables and identification to reduce the risk of being a victim.

OPP continue to investigate is asking anyone who may have noticed any suspicious persons or vehicles, or who may have any video surveillance or who may have any information regarding these incidents to contact them at 1- 888 – 310 – 1122.
