Haldimand OPP is reminding motorists to be responsible and “SLOW DOWN” for safety’s sake as the County of Haldimand launches a safe driving initiative.

Throughout the county, local residents have placed the red “SLOW DOWN” placards on their property, reminding motorists to be mindful of their speed and driving behaviour.

“Responsible driving behaviour contributes significantly to a safer community,” says Haldimand OPP Detachment Commander Phil Carter. “The simple act of being aware of your speed may assist in preventing a collision and reducing injury. I wish to thank the local insurance companies for donating these “Slow Down” signs and for being a partner in community highway safety.”
