Ontario teachers, perhaps in a sign of desperation, are ramping up the action with a one day province-wide shutdown of all schools on Friday February 21–a complete shutdown of the province’s public education system.
Roughly 200,000 teachers are represented by four unions and more than 5,000 public schools across the province will be closed leaving over 2 million students out of class.
All Grand Erie elementary and secondary schools will be CLOSED to students on that day. Schools will re-open following the latest job action by ETFO and OSSTF.
We can only hope for howling winds and snow to accompany the picket lines.
