Haldimand OPP has charged two individuals after investigating multiple thefts and other property crime offences in Dunnville, since June. Some of the stolen property has been recovered and returned to the rightful owners.
Charged is 32-year-old Nathanial Smith of Dunnville, with multiple property related offences as well as multiple counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order.
OPP has also charged 25-year-old Corey Hill of Six Nations with multiple property crime related offences.
OPP is reminding all residents to secure their property and suggest the following tips to reduce the risk of being a victim of property crime:
Always keep vehicles and doors to residences and storage sheds locked; Remove valuables from your vehicle. If you can’t, then keep them from plain view; Consider alarm systems, motion sensor lighting; Trees, shrubs and fences create hiding spots for criminals so keep your landscaping groomed; Report any suspicious activity.
