Norfolk OPP charged three men last week following a break-in and robbery at a licenced marijuana growing facility in Norfolk County.

Police originally charged Samuel David Lambert, 22; Brad Parks and Ryan Drabiuk, both 23, all of St Catharines, with break and enter, robbery; and aggravated assault.

They now face additional charges of attempt murder, disguise with intent, discharge a firearm with intent, unauthorized possession of a firearm,  two counts of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, use firearm while committing offence, and two counts of assault with a weapon.

Norfolk County OPP and Paramedic Services were called around 1:50 am last Tuesday to East Quarter Town Line near Renton where it was reported the three had broken into a residence and shot a 49-year-old man before fleeing the scene.

The victim was transported to hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries, but has now been released from hospital.

Police believe the suspects targeted the victim’s residence and there is no current evidence suggesting there is any risk to public safety.

The investigation remains ongoing with members of the Norfolk County OPP Crime Unit under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch, Detective Inspector Darren Webster.
