Haldimand OPP has charged a 73-year-old man with drinking and driving after he hit a parked vehicle on Orkney Street West, Caledonia, in the early hours of Saturday.

Paramedics treated him at the scene. The driver failed a roadside screening device and further investigation determined he was over the legal limit of alcohol.

73-year-old Robert Moffat of Caledonia has been charged with driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol.

The vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days and his driver’s licence was automatically suspended for 90 days.
