Protect yourself against fraud and identity theft.
Haldimand OPP is reminding all residents that throwing any documents that contain any personal or financial information in the garbage or recycling leaves you vulnerable to fraud and identity theft. One preventative measure to reduce the risk of being a victim is to destroy or shred any documents containing personal or financial information.
To that end, Crime Stoppers of Haldimand-Norfolk is hosting the following “Shredding Day” events:
Saturday September 19, Erie Mutual Insurance – 711 Main Street East, Dunnville, 9:00 a.m. – noon
Saturday October 17, Hagersville Farmers Market,1 Main Street South, Hagersville 9:00 a.m. – noon

Bring in personal and financial documents for “on site” shredding by Norfolk Disposal mobile trucks for a donation of $7.00 / box or by donation. All proceeds will remain in Haldimand and Norfolk and will be used to support Crime Stoppers.
Acceptable materials include: any paper, plastic sleeves, spiral bindings, plastic bindings, duo-tangs & file folders, ACCO clips (alligator clips), paper clips, staples or elastics, all envelopes (including windowed)
