Haldimand OPP has charged a 32-year-old man with drug possession following a traffic stop on Chestnut Street in Dunnville in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
While police spoke with the occupants, two of the individuals were identified as persons of interest involved in a shoplifting incident, and a search of one of the occupants found a quantity of illicit drugs, resulting in his arrest.
Nathaniel Smith, 32, of Dunnville, has been charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I substance (4 counts), and Fail to Comply with a Probation Order (2 counts).
OPP also charged the unnamed 34-year-old driver of Dunnville, with: G1 licence holder unaccompanied by a qualified driver, and Driving a motor vehicle with an unsealed container of liquor.
