Two people have been charged with drug related offences following a traffic stop on Main Street East, Dunnville, Saturday evening.
OPP noticed a vehicle travelling west bound on Main Street well above the 50 km/hour posted speed limit and without its headlights on. They stopped it and while speaking with the two occupants, noticed a quantity of illicit drugs inside. A search of the vehicle and its occupants located more illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The male driver and female passenger were both arrested. OPP seized a quantity of suspected marijuana and cocaine as well as a quantity of Canadian currency. The male driver was also found to be in violation of multiple Highway Traffic Act offences.
20-year-old Nicholas Berkeley and 20-year-old Miceala Colbert, both of Dunnville have been charged with Possession for the purpose of trafficking a Schedule I substance – cocaine, and a Schedule II substance – marijuana, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
In addition Berkeley faces a whole raft of traffic offences: driving a motor vehicle without a current valid permit, using plates not authorized for a motor vehicle, driving a motor vehicle without proper headlights, operating an unsafe vehicle, speeding and driving a motor vehicle without insurance
