A vehicle was stopped for an offence under the Highway Traffic Act, Friday morning, by Haldimand OPP patrolling Ottawa Street North, Cayuga.

Police found the validation permit on the licence plate had been altered, and the 19-year-old driver from Smithville was charged with use of a defaced permit.

While police spoke with the occupants, illicit drugs were found inside the vehicle.

Charged is 24-year-old Troy Sugg of Cayuga, with Possession of 2 Schedule 1 Substances – Methamphetamine and Fentanyl, and fail to comply with an undertaking.

Both accused are to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga at a later date.
