A Dunnville resident avoided being defrauded Tuesday after someone phoned to say they had won $2.5 million dollars. The caller, who knew the person’s name and address, requested a $1000 registration fee before the money could be claimed, but the savvy 82 year old called police.
The OPP encourages community members to stay educated on fraud prevention.
