Norfolk OPP, Fire and Rescue Services and Paramedics responded to a collision involving two motor vehicles on McDowell East, Simcoe, Friday evening.
Police have determined that a green coloured vehicle was travelling westbound on McDowell Road East. A silver coloured vehicle was travelling eastbound when the driver left the roadway, over corrected and entered the westbound lane where both vehicles collided.
As a result, the driver of the green vehicle was taken to a local area hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. A teenage male passenger in the silver vehicle was air lifted to a Hamilton area hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries. The female driver of the silver vehicle suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the attending coroner.
OPP Technical Collision Investigators are assisting with the investigation.
Identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
McDowell Road East is currently closed between Forestry Farm Road and Woodland Drive.
Victim Services of Haldimand-Norfolk have been contacted and are assisting in the notification process.
