Haldimand OPP has charged four drivers with drinking and driving offences in four separate incidents between April 8-11.


Thursday evening, OPP and Haldimand County paramedics responded to Blue Water Parkway in Selkirk for a single vehicle roll over. The driver had fled, but was located a short distance away. He was uninjured.

Charged is Justin Staats, 27, of Fisherville, with:

● Driving a motor vehicle while impaired ● Driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood ● Operate a motor vehicle while prohibited ● Drive a motor vehicle while under suspension ● Fail to Remain at the scene of a collision


In the early hours of Saturday morning, a vehicle struck a utility pole on Argyle Street North near Caithness in Caledonia.

Charged with driving a motor vehicle while impaired by drug is Evan Flint, 28, of Cayuga.


Later Saturday morning another vehicle struck a utility pole on Haldimand Road 3 in Nanticoke.

Sean Conlon, 31, of Brantford has been charged with:

●  Driving a motor vehicle while impaired ●  Driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood ●  Careless driving


In the early hours of Sunday morning OPP and paramedics responded to Haldimand Road 3 in Nanticoke for a single vehicle collision. Paramedics transported the driver to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.


22-year-old Sarah O’Callaghan of Simcoe, is charged with:

● Driving a motor vehicle while impaired ● Driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood ● Novice driver with a blood alcohol concentration above zero


All of the accused are scheduled to appear in Cayuga court.
