Norfolk OPP has charged three men following a break-in and robbery at a licenced marijuana growing facility in Norfolk County.

Norfolk County OPP and Paramedic Services were called around 1:50 am Tuesday to East Quarter Town Line near Renton where it was reported the three had broken into a residence and shot a 49-year-old man before fleeing the scene.

The victim was transported to hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries.

A vehicle was located near the scene and is being examined by the OPP Forensic Identification Section. Police believe the suspects targeted the victim’s residence and there is no current evidence suggesting there is any risk to public safety.

Police have charged Samuel David Lambert, 22; Brad Parks and Ryan Drabiuk, both 23, all of St Catharines, with the following Criminal Code offences: Break and Enter; Robbery; and Aggravated Assault.

The investigation remains ongoing with members of the Norfolk County OPP Crime Unit under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch, Detective Inspector Darren Webster.
