Haldimand OPP has received three more reports of counterfeit U.S. currency being used at businesses in the area and are urging caution when accepting U.S. currency, particularly in $50.00 or $100.00 denominations.
The problem first came to police attention after two male suspects entered a retail business on Broad Street East on September 4 and made an attempt to purchase items using a counterfeit $50.00 US note.
The same two male suspects entered a Queen Street business on the same day and again on September 20 where they attempted to make purchases using a counterfeit $50.00 US note.
In all incidents the suspects left the area in a red Oldsmobile Alero.
OPP is asking anyone who can identify any of the suspects or who may have any information regarding these incidents to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.
