It’s worth reminding the public that off road motorcycles are only allowed to be operated on private property with permission of the land owner while all proper safety equipment is in use.
Police in Brant County were called to a two vehicle collision where a 16-year-old had been operating an off road motorcycle and struck an SUV while crossing Highway 5 yesterday.
The operator of the off road motorcycle was uninjured as was the driver of the SUV. A child who was a passenger in the SUV suffered minor injuries as a result of this incident.
The 16-year-old operator of the off road motorcycle has been charged with careless driving and failing to have the proper driver’s licence to operate a motorcycle, both contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
We all know this happens in Haldimand too. Parents of children with an off road vehicle should make sure their children know the rules.
