IMPAIRED SPEEDING DRIVER FACES MULTIPLE CHARGES
Thursday afternoon, OPP were patrolling Highway 3 near Jarden Road, Dunnville when a vehicle travelling west bound, at nearly two times the posted 80 km/hour speed limit, caught the attention of an officer.
While speaking with the female driver, signs of impairment were detected and she was subsequently arrested. Further investigation determined the vehicle the woman was operating had been reported stolen.
OPP has charged 48-year-old Sharon Pirouet of Dunnville with: Impaired operation of a motor vehicle, refuse to provide a breath sample, theft over $5,000, speeding, racing a motor vehicle, driving while under suspension, driving while disqualified, driving a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s licence
She was held for a bail hearing in Provincial Court Cayuga.
IMPAIRED NOVICE DRIVER
Haldimand OPP were conducting radar patrol on Rainham Road in Dunnville Thursday evening when a vehicle travelling above the posted 50 km/hour speed limit caught the attention of an officer.
While speaking with the female driver, signs of alcohol consumption were detected and the woman subsequently failed a roadside screening test resulting in her arrest. Further investigation determined that the woman held a G1 class driver’s licence.
31-year-old Ashley Hanson of St. Catharines is charged with: driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood, novice driver with a blood alcohol content above zero, G1 class driver unaccompanied by a qualified driver.
IMPAIRED MAN FOUND IN DITCHED CAR
Two hours later OPP located a vehicle in a ditch on Lakeshore Road in Dunnville.
OPP spoke with a man who was seated in the front seat and detected signs of impairment. He was arrested, then found to be two and a half times the legal limit.
Charged is 47-year-old Randy Fox of Cayuga with: care or control of a motor vehicle while impaired, care or control of a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood, and having an open container of liquor in a motor vehicle.
ANOTHER IMPAIRED DRIVER
In the early hours of Sunday morning, OPP conducted a traffic stop on Ottawa Street North, Cayuga, detected signs of impairment with the female driver and arrested her.
Charged is 28-year-old Sara Doucette of Cayuga with: impaired operation of a motor vehicle, and driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood
