IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGES
Haldimand OPP have charged two men with drinking and driving offences in Haldimand County.
OPP responded to a traffic hazard complaint Friday evening on Highway 6, Caledonia where a pickup truck towing a trailer appeared broken down and was partially in a live lane of traffic.
The driver failed an alcohol test and Daniel Ludwig, 33 of Mount Hope was charged with driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
Just over four hours later, OPP responded to Haldimand Road 55 near Highway 6 in Jarvis after a passer-by noticed a vehicle in the ditch.
Charged is Christopher Ujagarsingh. 30, of Oakville, with: Impaired operation of a motor vehicle, snd Driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
Both accused had their drivers licences suspended for a minimum of 90 days and vehicles were impounded.
HALDIMAND RESIDENT FACING LURING CHARGES
The Haldimand County OPP Crime Unit began an investigation December 1 after receiving a report that an individual was involved in inappropriate conversations with a young person on social media.
As a result, OPP has charged a 45-year-old from Haldimand County with two counts of Luring a Person Under 18 years of age by telecommunication.
The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga.
