COLLISION INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGES

On August 14, 2021 at 11:39 p.m. Haldimand County OPP and Haldimand County Paramedics responded to Haldimand Road 20 for a report of a single vehicle rollover.
While speaking with the driver, signs of alcohol consumption were detected. The individual was transported to an out-of-town police station for additional testing.

Gerald SWENT, 34-years-old of Dunnville is charged with

Driving a motor vehicle while impaired.

Driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood
The accused is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga at a later date to answer to the
charges.

On August 14, 2021 at 12:20 a.m.Haldimand County OPP, Haldimand County Fire Services and Haldimand County Paramedics responded to Northshore Drive in Lowbanks for a report of a single motor vehicle collision.
The individual was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries and for further testing.
Joshua BOWMAN, 31-years-old of Dunnville is charged with:

Driving a motor vehicle while impaired
Driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood
Drive while under suspension (2 Counts)
The accused is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga at a later date to answer to the charges.

OPP INVESTIGATE VEHICLE THEFTS IN HAGERSVILLE

Haldimand OPP is investigating the theft of two motor vehicles within one week from the same business in Hagersville.
On August 13, 2021, an unknown person or persons stole a grey 2009 Chevrolet Impala with an Ontario
licence plate of CHCN 439. Another vehicle stolen recently was recovered but it had been destroyed by fire.
OPP is asking anyone who may have noticed any suspicious persons or vehicles or have any information

The Haldimand County OPP is investigating the theft of a motor vehicle. Sometime overnight on August 14, 2021, an unknown person
or persons stole a 2014 blue Honda Civic with a personalized Ontario licence plate.
