ROADS CLOSED FOR LARGE BARN FIRE
Damage is estimated at $1.4 million in a hay-filled barn fire on Concession Road 9 Walpole, Tuesday evening. Haldimand, Norfolk and Six Nations tackled the blaze which closed Concession Road 9 between County Line and Haldimand Road 55 while the fire was active. The fire is deemed to be not suspicious and no injuries were reported.
An off road vehicle operator is facing several charges after police stopped his vehicle on Pine Street in Dunnville, Monday afternoon.
Police have charged Hayden Stire, 18, of Dunnville with:
Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – all tires not in contact with highway; Drive motor vehicle – improper licence and; Drive off-road vehicle – no insurance. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga.
OPP have responded to several complaints regarding off-road vehicle use on the roadways throughout Haldimand County.
