19 YEAR OLD CHARGED WITH STUNT DRIVING 

OPP were conducting patrols on Argyle Street North near Caithness Street, Caledonia in the early hours of Sunday morning when a passenger vehicle caught the attention of police.

The officer saw the vehicle continue north bound onto Highway 6 at speeds more than double the posted 80 km/hour speed limit and stopped it.

OPP has charged 19-year-old Dang Nguyen of Toronto with stunt driving under the Highway Traffic Act. His driver’s licence was suspended for seven days, and his vehicle was seized and impounded for seven days.

“This type of driving behaviour, and disregard for public safety will not be tolerated on our roadways” said OPP Constable Rod LeClair.

 

DRIVER FACES IMPAIRED CHARGES

Haldimand OPP has charged a 39-year-old man with impaired driving following a traffic complaint from a citizen regarding driving behaviour of a vehicle travelling on Haldimand Road 17 in Cayuga, Saturday evening.

Officers located and stopped the vehicle on Kohler Road and while speaking with the male driver detected signs of impairment and the driver was subsequently arrested.

OPP has charged 39-year-old Karl Grotke of Hamilton with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood, and driving a motor vehicle with open container of liquor

His driver’s licence was automatically suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded.

“The OPP would like to thank the concerned citizen for contacting police and encourage the public to call 9-1-1 if they suspect someone is operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol or drug” said Haldimand OPP Constable Rod LeClair.
