20 YEAR OLD FACES SEVERAL CHARGES

Haldimand OPP responded to the area of Sandusk Road in Selkirk for a report of a traffic complaint, Sunday evening.

They located the vehicle on Kohler Road near Lakeshore Road where they spoke with the male driver, and noted signs of impairment. The driver was subsequently arrested. During a search of the vehicle, a quantity of illicit drugs was located.

OPP has charged 20-year-old Ryan Burke of Dunnville with Impaired operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood, and possession of a schedule I substance

His driver’s licence was automatically suspended for 90 days and his vehicle towed and impounded for seven (7) days.

VEHICLE STOLEN FROM CAYUGA DRIVEWAY

Someone stole a vehicle from a driveway on Wisteria Lane, Cayuga overnight Saturday. The black 2007 GMC Yukon was locked and parked in the driveway.

GOAT KILLED

A vehicle struck and killed a goat that wandered onto the roadway on Jenkins Road, Townsend, Saturday afternoon. No damage was reported to the vehicle.

OBJECT THROWN OFF STIRLING BRIDGE

A driver reported someone had thrown an object from the Stirling Street overpass onto his vehicle, Sunday evening, damaging the sunroof. The vehicle was travelling south bound on Highway 6.

The culprit then fled the area on a four wheel All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV), last seen travelling west bound on Stirling Street.

SMASH AND GRAB

Sometime overnight Sunday someone smashed the rear window of a vehicle parked on the shoulder of Church Street, Dunnville, and stole a purse.

Haldimand OPP reminds the public to always keep valuables out of view  and to park in well-lit areas wherever possible.

HIT AND RUN

A 70-year-old woman was walking with her family dog when they were both struck within the crosswalk of the intersection of Main Street and Thomson Drive, Port Dover, Friday evening.

The pedestrian and her pet suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, described as a young male with blonde hair, failed to stop, continuing westbound on Highway 6. The vehicle is described as an older model, light beige Toyota Corolla.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance with this investigation. If anyone has any information, they are being asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
