Several men armed with handguns targeted a licensed medical marijuana grow op on Highway 3 in Norfolk County and gained entry into the residence, late Thursday evening. The occupants were restrained and suffered minor injuries as a result of being assaulted.

A quantity of marijuana was stolen and placed into a vehicle that was parked in the driveway.

Police were contacted and as officers arrived at the address, the suspects fled on foot. Members with the OPP Canine Units and TRU located four  males and took them into custody. 

As a result of this interaction, the OPP has notified the province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) which has invoked its mandate. As a result, the OPP will not be able to provide further information. Any other inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at (416) 622-2342.

Charged with the following offences are 18-year-old Tyreek Nosworthy of North York, 19 year old Traequon Mahoney of Brampton, 23-year-old Mahadale Mahadale of Toronto, and 26-year-old Khalid Galeal Ramadan of Thornhill:

 Break and enter, Disguise with intent, Robbery with firearm, Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, Firearm – Use while committing an offence, Forcible confinement, Point a firearm, Assault with a weapon, Assault causing bodily harm.

Mahadale faces an additional charge of Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order. Ramadan faces an additional charge of Fail to comply with recognizance.
