Two women have been charged in the theft of a Brant County Roads Department vehicle from Pleasant Ridge Road in Brant, Feb 8, after leading police on a two county chase.
The 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck department vehicle was last seen travelling north bound on Pleasant Ridge Road around 6 am.
At 7:33 a.m., a witness reported to Haldimand OPP that a Brant County Roads Department vehicle was driving recklessly in the area and had pulled into the Pioneer Gas station on Main Street., Hagersville. They saw someone fueling the vehicle before it fled the area.
At 8:44 a.m., someone reported a Brant County Roads vehicle was in the ditch on Concession 10 Walpole and the two female occupants were at a local business requesting assistance.
Charged are 31-year-old Jamie Leigh Beaver of Six Nations with:
Theft over $5,000, Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, Possession of break-in instruments, Theft under $5,000, Driving while under suspension.
25-year-old Stevy Staats of Six Nations is charged with Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
