Haldimand OPP charged three individuals over the weekend with impaired driving. All had their drivers licences suspended for a minimum of 90 days and vehicles were impounded.
A traffic stop on Highway 3 in Cayuga Friday evening turned up a driver who had consumed alcohol. Charged is 66-year-old Simeon Marcano of Jarvis with driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
Saturday morning a passer-by noticed a person who appeared to be asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle on Indian Line road in Hagersville. A Drug Recognition Evaluator administered tests and determined the driver was impaired by drug. A search of the vehicle also located a quantity of illicit drugs.
OPP has charged 33-year-old Jordan Hertel of Hagersville with: ● Impaired operation of a motor vehicle and ● Possession of a Schedule I Substance
Sunday afternoon, OPP responded to Haldimand Road 50 in Dunnville for a ditched vehicle. The driver was not injured but signs of impairment were detected. A Drug Recognition Evaluator determined the driver was impaired by drug.
OPP has charged 37-year-old John Huigen of Dunnville with: Impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
