Haldimand OPP has charged a 23-year-old after a complainant reported an unknown person was kicking at their door on Sutherland Street West, Caledonia early Tuesday evening, disturbing other residents.
While en route, police were provided descriptors and were updated that the man had fled on foot. OPP found the suspect behind an Argyle Street North business.
While police were attempting to remove him the suspect was belligerent and spat in the rear of the cruiser. He was transported to the Cayuga detachment and lodged in a cell, where he proceeded to urinate and spit.
He claimed to have the coronavirus, and Haldimand County paramedics attended to assess the individual. He was later cleared medically.
Charged is 23-year-old Christopher Armstrong of Caledonia, with: Mischief Under $5,000 (2 counts) and Obstruct Peace Officer.
He is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga at a later date.
