Haldimand OPP has charged a 51-year-old after investigating a two vehicle collision that seriously injured one of the drivers.
One of the vehicles had rolled over in the collision on Highway 3 at Cheapside Road, just east of Jarvis, Thursday evening. Both drivers were trapped in their vehicles.
One of the vehicles was south bound on Cheapside Road and entered the intersection where it struck a vehicle that was travelling east bound on Highway 3. The momentum of the crash then caused the east bound vehicle to roll over and strike a tree.
The 77-year-old driver of the east bound vehicle was transported via Air Ornge Ambulance to an out of town hospital with serious injuries. It was later determined the driver’s injuries were non-life threatening.
The driver of the south bound vehicle was transported to a local area hospital by paramedics with non-life threatening injuries.
OPP has charged the 51-year-old driver of the south bound vehicle with careless driving causing bodily harm, under The Highway Traffic Act. Neither driver has been named.
