Haldimand OPP has charged three teens following an assault at a quarry on Concession 12 Walpole where a witness reported someone had been stabbed, Saturday evening.
A witness further reported that three male suspects had fled the scene on foot. Police located three individuals matching the descriptions provided a short distance away and they were detained.
The victim was transported by paramedics to an out of town hospital with serious injuries. OPP were later updated that the victim is expected to recover.
Multiple people were at the quarry when the victim was confronted by three males. The victim and suspects were involved in a verbal argument which escalated and the victim was assaulted.
One of the suspects brandished an edged weapon and stabbed the first victim several times. A second victim intervened to assist their friend and was also assaulted.
The OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) searched and processed the scene for evidence, and investigation by the Haldimand County OPP Crime Unit resulted in three individuals facing charges.
John Herod, 18, of Brantford has been charged with assault.
Unone Heron, 18, of Brantford has been charged with assault and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
Both are to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga at a later date.
Delroy Warren, 19, of Brantford has been charged with: Aggravated Assault, Assault, Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and Disobeying a court order. He was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga.
